STAGE & DRAMA
Thespians and enthusiasts of the stage will find much to do in Osaka. The Shochikuza Theater in the Dotombori area, with its original 1923 Neo-Renaissance façade, remains a favourite for kabuki enthusiasts. For those who want to experience Osaka's famous comedy acts, head no further than the Namba Grand Kagetsu Theater, home to the world famous Yoshimoto production company. The Ohtsuki Noh Theatre is the primary venue for Noh performances, while puppetry with a 200-year history can be found at the Joruri Theater. If it’s just a dollop of knowledge you're after, then the aptly named Knowledge Theater is for you; more entertaining all-female revues can be found at the Umeda Arts Theater.
