The National Museum of Art, Osaka, is one of the national museums established as a facility of the Agency for Cultural Affairs. Centering its focus on contemporary art (mainly that created after 1945), it collects and exhibits objects of art and other related materials necessary to clarify the relation between the development of Japanese art and international art. The museum creates its exhibits in such a way that visitors can easily see not only the close relation between the realization and development of Japanese art and international art, but also new trends in the contemporary art of Japan and the world.
