This museum, which is designed to help people face the real history of discrimination and to learn the importance of human rights, collects, conserves, and publicizes historical human rights materials associated with discriminated-against groups, women, handicapped people, and environmental problems. Its purpose is to spread human rights awareness and contribute to the development of a more human rights-sensitive culture. The museum holds not only permanent exhibitions but special exhibitions and project exhibitions, and also sponsors lectures.
