Maishima Shin-yuhigaoka

Maishima Shin-yuhigaoka

This artificial island of Maishima, located in Osaka Bay, has abundant sports and leisure facilities including the practice grounds for Cerezo Osaka, a professional soccer team, Maishima Arena, baseball stadium, an auto camping ground, barbeque garden, and Lodge Maishima. It also has many spots to enjoy the sea breeze and greenery. Maishima Shin-yuhigaoka is an artificial hill, about 25 meters high, located in the western part of the island. From the observation square located at the top, the view of Awaji Island, Kobe Port, etc. spreading beyond the Osaka Bay can be enjoyed, and it also provides a romantic atmosphere at night with its view of nightscape on the far shore. As can be deduced from its name, this spot is renowned for its beautiful sunset, and the "Path of Winter Solstice" (winter solstice is around December 22nd) and the "Path of Summer Solstice" (summer solstice is around June 22nd). Each marks the path of the setting sun in each season. The Valley of Four Seasons where a river flows through, the Blossom-Viewing Square, and a walking route with gazebos and other spots are also recommended.
