Atago Shrine that has been believed as the god of fire since long times ago.
In the old days, someone looked at the fire in Satsukiyama and people got together and said, "Atago has come to Ikeda!" And that was the beginning of Atago Shrine in ikeda.
Fire had a risk of catastrophe at the time because there was almost no also fire protection equipment in the wooden houses.
It seems to have attracted the faith of the people because if the god is the god of fire, they thought it will protect from the disaster of fire.
"Gangara fire festival" takes place on August 24 every year which is a prestigious festival from the Edo period.This festival continues from the Edo era. Young people with two 100kg large torches and ignite the letter of "Daiichi""Dai(large)" while climbing down the mountain. Then, set the torch in the form of a "person", and parade the town.
