Hoshida Myoukengu

A zone from Katano City to Hirakata City, there was a noble hunting ground which was called Katanogahara in Heian period. It was said the birthplace of the festival of the weaver legend in Japan, related shrine and legend stay here. Hoshidamyokengu (komatsujinja) is located at top of Mt.Myokensan which is 162 meters, is the place for falling stars legend. When Kobo Daishi Kukai who was training there recited a secret process, the Big Dipper fall down, it was divided to 3 places to fall down. Huge yogoseki which is said deities and Buddhas became stone. There is many people at the festival of the weaver July 7th every year. After Yudateshinji, and Daigomaky, Kigantakiagesai is the best part to burn several hundreds of bamboo grasses decoration in full of the precincts. Every February 8th has "Hoshi Matsuri(star festival)", they open "Hoshifuri Matsuri(falling stars)"to deify the Big Dipper advent July 23 th.
