Tokoin Hagi Temple
This temple was built by Gyoki (a Japanese Buddhist priest of the Nara period) in 735 and it's know as Sinsaigoku twelfth sacred place.
It's commonly called "Ｔemple of Hagi",and 3000 Hagi(bush clover) flowers bloom in autumn every year.
Masaoka Shiki of the poet to represent Japan looked at this temple and composed a poet "Horohoro to Ishi ni koborenu Hagi no Tsuyu" and there is a slab at the precincts.
Gyoki used to visit here and performed the people cremation for the first time in Japan because he felt sorry for the death.
He carved Yakushinyorai and it has been reported that Gyoki planted Hagi by himself to comfort the spririts of the dead.
The Precincts covered in Hagi is one of the 100 selections of the Osaka Green.
Hagi festival takes place every year on September 15th-25th.
