Osaka Prefecture Chikatsu Asuka Fudoki-No-Oka

Osaka Prefecture Chikatsu Asuka Fudoki-No-Oka

OPEN HOURS9:30-17:00

Asuka of Nara is called Totsu Asuka (far Asuka), and the area including the Habikino-shi of Osaka and Taishi-cho at the western foot of the Nijozan Mountain is called Chikatsu Asuka (nearer Asuka). In ancient times, Chikatsu Asuka was a region with a thriving high culture introduced from overseas, surrounded by tumulus clusters from the 6th century and later. One of these is the Ichisuka tumulus cluster, and the historical park that preserves and maintains this cluster is the Osaka Prefecture Chikatsu Asuka Fudoki-No-Oka. The park covers approximately 29 hectares, and within this area, there are 102 round tombs (and some square tombs) around 15 meters in diameter, and of these, 40 are corridor-style burial chambers that can be entered by visitors. Numerous excavated articles from these tumulus clusters are exhibited and introduced at the nearby Chikatsu Asuka Museum. The entire Chikatsu Asuka Fudoki-No-Oka can be viewed from the museum.
