Takatsuki Castle Site Park

Takatsuki was an important base for the Christian missionary along with Sakai Takatsuki in the Edo period.
At that time, Ukon Takayama who was a famous Christian daimyo showed his talents for battles and a castle construction.
He built a robust Takatsuki castle that encloses in the moat to Honmaru,Ninomaru and also a machiya.
it was a good castle which possessed Yodogawa river to the south three kilometers, the northern one kilometer ahead of the Saigoku road, and it was located in a strategic point of land and water transportation.
Unfortunately, Takatsuki Castle was demolished in 1874 as time passed and castle town of scenery does not remain.
However, Ishigaki(wall stones) was used to lay a rail way of the JR Tokaido Line (former Japan National Railways era)
In May 1950,Castle was registered in the Osaka Prefecture of historic sites.
This Castle park has been widely known as a place of recreation and relaxation for citizens currently.
