MJB Coffee Shop

This classic coffee shop is on the basement floor of Ishihara Building, a building constructed in 1939 at the corner of Yodoyabashi crossroads. The shop originally opened in Shinsaibashi in 1946, soon after the end of World War II, and started its operations in Ishihara Building as well in 1969. With furniture and equipment brought from the original shop and used since its founding, the shop interior provides a dense, nostalgic atmosphere of the early Showa era around 1930. The specialty of this coffee shop is "Nanairo no Coffee (lit. Seven-colored Coffee)," a series of seven different blends served in turns depending on the day of the week. Among those seven blends, "Vienna Coffee (Café Vienna)" served on Wednesdays, a cup of coffee topped with whipped cream, was particularly unique at the time of its launch and is still popular today. MJB Coffee Shop also serves seven sets for breakfast, eleven for lunch and many for cakes and desserts, attracting business persons and office workers in the Yodoyabashi area for more than half a century.
