You operate a paddleboard to go forward in the open air. Paddleboards are a new feature of Nakanoshima with a different appeal from cruise vessels.

: Rose TourMay 10,2012; Each park in Osaka city cultivates roses of its own characteristic and sets up flowerbeds well worth seeing. The roses will be at their best from middle to late May, and bid a welcome to you with sweet fragrance, inviting you to parks of blooming flowers amid fresh greenery.
Each park will hold a “Rose Tour”. Participating in one of these is a good opportunity to fully appreciate roses.

: The Grand Sumo TournamentFeb 24,2012; The Grand Sumo Tournament is held six times a year, three of them being staged at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan. The March Tournament (Spring Tournament) is traditionally held in Osaka. The history of the March Tournament in Osaka dates back to 1953 when the four Tournaments of New Year, Spring, Summer and Autumn became official. The ring is set up at Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium for 15 days of intense, rigorous bouts. It is well worth watching the spectacular rikishi close-up.

: Dolls’FestivalFeb 24,2012; March 3 marks the Dolls’ Festival. The origin of this festival goes back a long way - to the Heian era (794-1185). This day falls on a point between the seasons and has been cherished as the day of cleansing oneself. The day has become transformed gradually, and now Hina dolls are decorated as guardian deities of girls that bear through life’s calamities on their behalf.
Nowadays, not many families go to the trouble of setting up the decorative tiered Hina dolls any more. However, we suggest that you enjoy the traditional Hina Festival atmosphere at the Waterworks Bureau.
