Uemachidaichi is filled with vigor of history and tradition ever since the days of Shotokutaishi (574A.D.～622A.D.) The area has been popular for having many temples from long ago. Now there are 200 temples and shrines and the most famous is the "Shitennoji Temple". Many people visit to pray as well as enjoy the beautiful view from the hill of the sunset that colors Osaka. The area is included in the tour of the "Historic Promenade" for it has many interesting sights as the Tennoji Nana-saka (Tennoji Seven Slopes) as well as historical sights too.
