A glorious castle, a world famous aquarium and a street of shops selling only knives - sightseeing in Osaka is as varied as it is surprising. To get your bearings in this metropolis, why not take a ride on the big red ferris wheel at the Hep Five department store in Umeda to get a snapshot of the whole city and the many rivers that cross it? Or, ride up to the top floor of the Abeno Harukas building, the tallest of its kind in Japan, where you can see Osaka from 300 metres in the air. Back on land, no visit would be complete without a tour of Osaka Castle and its stunning landscaped grounds, a trip to the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan and a browse down the unique Doguyasuji - a shopping arcade selling only kitchenware.
