Outline Ishihara Hall is located near the 5-B exit of Higobashi Station of Osaka City Subway Yotsubashi line. It is a shoebox-type concert hall with a seating capacity of 250. Shoebox-type halls are said to have good and comfortable acoustics, because they are designed to enable the sound to reach all seats equally along various paths, including walls and ceilings. In this hall, the audience can enjoy listening to natural and delicate sound best-suited to small halls, rather than high volume of sound. In addition, the auditorium is spacious – each seat is 54 cm wide and rows of seats are 95 cm apart – and careful consideration was also given to seat materials, to ensure that the audience can enjoy concerts comfortably for some hours. Although the stage is designed to be relatively low (60 cm high from the auditorium bottom level), it is so spacious that groups larger than a 12-piece chamber orchestra can hold concerts and it is also equipped with lighting and suspension equipment necessary for such concerts. While the hall organizes concerts every month, it can be rented only for acoustic concerts.
