| Outline | Located in the east of the site of the former Nissei Ball Park, Morinomiya Piloti Hall consists of a large hall and a small hall. The hall, constructed in 1979, is rare in Japan in that the piloti style (elevated-floor style using special beams) was employed, with the aim of preserving remains and relics of the Morinomiya site (from Jomon/Yayoi period to the early Edo period). The hall was renewed in 2010. The large hall, with a seating capacity of 1,030, is used for a wide variety of events, including concerts, plays, dance performance, lectures, cinemas and general meetings of unions, while the small hall is used for such events as piano concerts, lectures, workshops, exhibitions and parties. Within the the Morihomiya Piloti Hall, a room on the first floor of the hall house is available an exhibition covering the ancient Morinomiya site. Various tourist spots, including Osaka Castle Park and Tamatsukuri Shrine, are located in the vicinity of the hall. |
