Akanemaru Honpo Dainagon started business in Osaka in 1940 as a manufacturer of "an" also known as bean paste. It has since consistently pursued quality in its bean paste and one of it's flagship products is Goshiki Dorayaki, which now has fans not just in Osaka but nationwide. The "an" is produced painstakingly, using carefully selected azuki beans. This an is then combined with 5 different colored beans -- red, mottled, green, azuki and white beans -- to create an exquisite combination that makes the dorayaki filling substantial yet not overwhelmingly sweet. Many new products such as "Ringo-to-Remon-no-Dorayaki" and "Goshiki Dorayaki Kurogoma-jitate" have also appeared, adding to the wide choice available, so why not try one of them?
